Gas Turbine Efficiency Expands Products and Services to Serve the GE Frame 7EA Turbine Operating Community

November 2, 2009

GTE announces the availability of new and existing products for the GE Frame 7EA gas turbine user community in the Energy Industry

(ORLANDO, FL) — Gas Turbine Efficiency plc (AIM: GTE), a leader in energy and aviation products and services, is announcing the expansion of its products and services lineup to meet the needs of the GE Frame 7EA users community, offering significant operational benefits and return for operators who have invested in this widely-used gas turbine.

GTE serves power plant operators by delivering proven solutions for maintenance and optimization in gas-only and dual-fuel gas turbine systems. The expanded products and services include new hardware and consumables for 7EA users worldwide.

GTE 7EA Introduces Products and Services

GTE announces the availability of new and existing products for the GE Frame 7EA gas turbine user community in the Energy Industry.

“We are committed to support our Energy Services clients in maintaining operational excellence for their investment,” says Steven Zwolinski, Chief Executive Officer at GTE. “Following on this commitment, GTE offers a number of options to help 7EA operators achieve their performance goals using products and services designed to keep their gas turbines in optimal operating condition.”

There are currently over 850 GE Frame 7EA gas turbines in use worldwide and their operators’ need to meet operational and maintenance goals can be best served by GTE’s products and services—including its:

* DLN-1 combustion system repairs and spares

* Turbine Optimization

* Compressor Water Wash Systems

* Turbine Outage Services, the company’s most recent addition to the lineup

In the last two years GTE has developed DLN-1 repair processes and applied the processes to return combustion systems to original performance. Based on the success of this work and customer demand, GTE has now developed replacement DLN-1 combustion components for the 7EA.   The equipment is currently available for application and will be reviewed with the 7EA User Community at the User Group meeting in Miami, FL. DLN-1 combustion components are also now available for the 6B and 9E users as well.

In addition to the repair and new equipment manufacturing for DLN-1 combustion systems, GTE has recently introduced its ECOMAX™ system to provide fully automated continuous tuning to enhance emission compliance, extend service life and optimize plant performance.

The benefit of using GTE’s family of services and products for 7EA increases when users combine them in their maintenance efforts,” says Thomas Wagner, Chief Technology Officer at GTE. “Our experience in the Energy market allows our business groups to optimize their performance output or upgrade the installation for DLN, ECOMAX™ or Water Wash Product lines.”

GTE recognizes that the Energy Industry will be increasingly shaped by the combination of rapidly escalating fuel costs, fuel source variation, environmental regulations, and energy demand. This combination creates challenges for the large global installed base of assets as they must adapt to alternate fuels, cyclic operation, and tougher emissions targets—all with a potentially significant impact on their financial commitment to operating 7EA gas turbines.

GTE will be exhibiting and hosting the reception dinner in the Cove Ballroom at the 7EA User Group Meeting on November 4-7, 2009 in Miami, FL.

GTE will also exhibit at Power Gen International 2009, the world’s largest Energy Industry convention in on December 8-10, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV.

Gas Turbine Efficiency Introduces Automated Tuning of Gas Turbines and a New Monitoring and Diagnostics Center for Power Generation Clients

October 28, 2009

Clients will benefit from GTE’s experience in gas turbines with their new cutting-edge remote Monitoring and Diagnostics center

(ORLANDO, FL) — October 28, 2009—Gas Turbine Efficiency, plc (AIM: GTE), a leader in energy and aviation products and services, announces the commercial release of the ECOMAX ™ Automated Tuning System family of products and Monitoring and Diagnostic (M&D) services for the full product portfolio.  The ECOMAX ™ product line and M&D service provides power plant operators with a proactive and customizable performance monitoring of gas turbines that eliminates onsite gas turbine tuning, optimizes performance and increases reliability.

GTE New Monitoring and Diagnostics Center

GTE Introduces Automated Tuning of Gas Turbines and a New Monitoring and Diagnostics Center

The application of ECOMAX™ and the monitoring of gas turbine performance helps to optimize the performance of power plants, through the application of decision support systems, designed to augment existing processes. Benefits manifest themselves in the form of increased power output, efficiency gains, emissions reduction, reduced maintenance and life extension of critical, high value turbine parts.

“It is a team effort that links the capabilities of GTE with the customer’s control room, for a win-win relationship”, says Steven Zwolinski, Chief Executive Officer at GTE. “The ECOMAX™ solution, combined with our new state-of-the-art Monitoring and Diagnostics center allows us to bring critical information to the customer’s operating decision point – offering faster, more optimized solutions.”

The M&D center provides the power plant operator with a proactive method of monitoring their major equipment. The variances in fuel, ambient conditions and combustion dynamics that have typically been managed by manually tuning gas turbines are processed by the ECOMAX™ platform in real time and are acted upon automatically. In addition, GTE’s M&D center provides real-time monitoring and notification services for identification of emerging issues.

ECOMAX™ allows plant operators to set an operational objective for their turbine. Biases can be selected for output, emissions and parts life—giving the operator unprecedented flexibility and control. Pre-set software switches allow for quick and easy switching between operating modes. ECOMAX™ is completely integrated into the plants existing control system.

At first glance, GTE’s innovative M&D center resembles the main bridge on the starship Enterprise, and the features that make up its monitoring technology are equally impressive. The center’s most noticeable feature is its multiple LCD monitors, which can give engineers and customers in training a real-time, in-depth look into the performance of gas turbines in multiple international locations.

“The technology behind the M&D center allows GTE to remotely monitor from several locations and provide routine follow-up on any performance anomalies from its Orlando, Florida location; with 24/7 coverage by experienced engineers.” says Thomas Wagner CTO at GTE. “After several installations at multiple sites with proven validation, documentation and customer satisfaction of the results, we are pleased to now offer these products and services to a wider group of clients.”

To learn more, a quick-read case study and product brochure can be downloaded in the Media Center section of GTE’s corporate website and blog. GTE will be exhibiting at Power Gen 2009, the largest energy industry convention in North America, on December 8-10, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV.
