Gas Turbine Efficiency to Present its Products, Technical Information at Power Gen Asia in Singapore

October 26, 2010

GTE will be attending the conference and exhibition to showcase Energy Industry solutions to turbine owners and operators

ORLANDO, Florida — Gas Turbine Efficiency plc (AIM: GTE), a leader in energy and aviation products and services, will be attending Pennwell’s annual Power Gen Asia Conference and Exhibition in Singapore to present its entire array of power generation products to gas turbine owners and technical staff.

GTE plans to showcase its complete portfolio of products and services, including DLN upgrade packages, combustion repair capabilities, fuel conditioning systems, and compressor wash solutions at the Exhibition, interacting with gas turbine users to improve the reliability and financial viability of gas turbines in use by operators worldwide.

Pennwell is the owner and producer of many Power Generation Conferences worldwide including Power Gen Europe, Power Gen India and Power Gen Middle East. The conference draws the attention of technical and management staff from gas turbine professionals in the Energy Industry, including power plant owners and suppliers.

GTE’s water wash product line is of particular interest to Power Gen Asia delegates since this proprietary technology has been shown to provide up to 3% of performance recovery, 1% reduction in heat rate and 2% in availability improvements. Robert Burke, Application Engineering Manager at GTE, has been selected by the Power Gen committee to present during the “Operation and Maintenance” session on 2 November from 16.00 to 17.30.

At Power Gen Asia, Mr. Burke will present a number of water wash case studies included within his paper Application of a Multi-Stage Compressor Cleaning System on Large Frame DLN Combustion Turbines. Attendees to the GTE presentation will include power plant managers, gas turbine operators and energy industry professionals interested in increasing the efficiency of their power generation equipment.

The Power Gen Asia Conference and Exhibition will be held at the Marina Bay Sands Resort, an integrated resort billed as the world’s most expensive standalone casino property, on 2-4 November, 2010. GTE will be exhibiting in booth number K6.

Gas Turbine Efficiency’s Multi-Stage Compressor Cleaning System Featured in Malaysian Energy Industry Conference

October 13, 2010

GTE’s compressor cleaning system performance data presented at the 6th User Group Conference for Siemens V94.3A/V84.3A gas turbines

(ORLANDO, FL) — Gas Turbine Efficiency plc (AIM: GTE), a leader in energy and aviation products and services, recently presented at the 6th V94.3A/V84.3A user group conference in Melaka, Malaysia, where Robert Burke, Manager of Applications Engineering for GTE, presented recently validated data from GTE’s compressor cleaning model system.

GTE’s automatic online wash cleaning system has been designed to provide gas turbine operators the advantage of incorporating its patented water wash technology, which is seamlessly integrated into the control system as an optimal solution for operational flexibility. In 2008, GTE commissioned a rigorous Research and Development program to eliminate excessive compressor fouling on three combined cycle SGT6-5000F (W501F) engines. Based on the results of the R&D efforts, GTE designed a patent-pending, fully automated, multi-stage nozzle cleaning system for online and offline compressor wash systems with the aim of reducing engine power degradation and increasing engine efficiency.

“The GTE water wash system is valuable because it is an easy to use, low maintenance cleaning system,” said Burke. “Thanks to its implementation, the unit can maintain the power output, reduce fuel and parts costs, and provide added operational flexibility.”

Burke presented evidence supporting how GTE’s unit can cut the engine degradation in half in comparison to the OEM water wash system, while demonstrating an average percent power benefit of 1.18% and motivating an average increase in engine efficiency of 0.42%. GTE offers similar systems for most industrial gas turbines, utilizing its proprietary technology to create cost-effective solutions to a common need for power plant operators in the Energy Industry.
